Hi everyone, I’m Karissa! I am a life-long animal lover and mom of four (except my kids have paws and shed a whole lot). After studying communications and film in college and spending time working in Los Angeles, I realized that my true passion was for animals. Since returning home to Albany in 2020, I have spent the majority of my time surrounded by cats and dogs and learning as much as I can.
In August of 2021, I accepted a position with a large dog and cat daycare/boarding facility as the Operations Manager. This position allowed me to grow and develop my love and understanding of cats and dogs in ways I could have never imagined. Specializing in “non-traditional” daycare dogs, my time at this facility introduced me to a wide range of pet personalities and behaviors that helped give me a much better understanding of how animals communicate with us. I was also given the opportunity to receive my pet CPR & first aid training certification (I can teach and certify you in pet CPR!) and am in the midst of completing my dog training certification.
I am so excited to introduce you to The Cat & Canine Corner, and hope you decide to entrust me with your fur babies. I am currently offering dog walking, vacation drop in visits, hikes, daycare, and pet taxi requests, as well as several add-on services (such as nail trims and enrichment activities). As the business continues to grow, I hope to expand these offerings.
